M S University, Baroda, India. 1975-1980
Under the guidance of enlightened teachers in Baroda, I worked from life and Nature while digging into the dense psycho-spiritual forest within, to build the foundation of my art practice. Since then, I have been interested in the unconscious, dream, memory and the illusive nature of perception and reality.

UK : 1988 - 1990
In 1988 I left India for fellowships in County Durham, UK. The watercolors, drawings and etchings of this period reflect both the joy and isolation of living in the countryside, and the idyllic beauty of northeast England resonated in my work for years to come. The figuration and emotion in the work came into being through a process of unmeditated mark-making or layering of thin watercolor washes.
